Probably last post from KP (He's due home on Christmas Eve)
I arrived in Hanoi after another wonderful bus ride being used for a pillow. I lost my cash card in Hoi An when I was using the ATM and the power failed due to heavy rain. All I could do was laugh about it. I have to use the credit card a little, but it will be under 200 dollars. I have to save my remaining cash for food, an airport taxi, and my departure tax. The bank is Vietcom Bank, and the people there were very professional, and helpful as far as they could be. I'm not worried. I contacted my bank. My card may catch up to me in Hanoi, if not, they're sending it to MT. Par for my course, I guess. The one problem with developing countries is that easy solutions are hard to find. I asked why they couldn't just call a maintenance guy to get it, but the answer was that things don't work that way in Vietnam. All's well and I am determined to enjoy my last day in Hanoi. I forgot how much I like this place. The best news is that it's finally a reasonable temperature, even a little cool. This one probably isn't one for the blog eh? I tried, but I can't open it from here. Karl p.s. Could you ask Erik which airline I check in with for a Delta flight operated by Air France. Maybe dad knows.
