Vacation on the Lake

We had a wonderful time on our vacation.

We saw the world's largest metal holstein, buffalo, pheasant, and sculpture (All on Highway 94).

We got to see Erik play softball (well hit triple with 2 runs batted in, and tricky out at third).

We got to go to the farm to pick fresh produce and enjoy a fabulous evening eating the vegetables under the stars. Thanks to Sara and Jacob for having us out.

We enjoyed breakfast and lunch at the coffee shop. If you ever go, Jacob's granola with fresh fruit and milk make a tasty hearty breakfast. The heirloom tomatoes on whole wheat break is delicious when the tomatoes are in season.

Then we went with E & A to visit her family's cabin. The Smith's are great in-laws. It was a fun time. We learned what a 'magula' is, and enjoyed a Cape Cod dinner of steamed crawfish, corn on the cob, and sausage. The 'booze cruises' at sunset were truly relaxing.

Amelia turned us on to 'Gimme Lean' sausage which is a good alternative to sausage if you want to cut down on fat. Mary shared a recipe for "Omelet in a baggie". We haven't tried that yet, but will let you know how it turns out.

Yes, that's Link and me on the jet skis. Can't wait to do that again!

Help out Erik's friend, Jacob, by checking out his website for concrete staining and clicking on some of the ads by Google. Jacob makes a little extra cents each time, and it's interesting reading, especially if you are interested in concrete staining.
